Attendance
Your child's attendance -
It is important that your child comes to school regularly, both to learn and develop relationships with their peers.
There is documented evidence that high attendance leads to good academic achievement. Low attendance leads to gaps in learning and can turn into a cycle that is difficult to break.
If your child is ill then you, as their parent or guardian, must notify the school before 9am on the first day of absence.
If your child needs to be absent for any reason other than illness you must contact the school and obtain permission beforehand.
It is your legal responsibility to ensure your child attends school, and failure to do so can lead to criminal prosecution.
